If you came across a wounded man, laying in the middle of the road and unable to move, what would you do? If you could help him, would you? If you had the power to lift him up and carry him to safety, would you do it? As you looked into his eyes you would see suffering, fear, and pain. He might be struggling to crawl to safety but unable to do so. If you had the power to save him, would you? THE GOD OF CALVINISM WOULD NOT! He would, for some reason, choose to leave the man there and let him suffer and die with no hope . . . at least in some cases. That type of God is a monster.
The man who believes that God has the power to save all men, but created some men simply to cast them into eternal hell forever with no hope of salvation, is a man who has a god who is a monster. He has insulted the God of the Bible and called Him a liar.
Calvinism – The Amazing Dead Man (what can he do?)
He can hear:
John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Notice: The sequence is that they shall hear, THEN they shall live.
He can believe:
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Notice: The sequence is that they shall believe, then live.
He can decide (i.e. refuse to believe):
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
He can live (by hearing):
I Peter 4:6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
He is priceless (Christ died for him):
2 Cor 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
He can have faith (and then live):
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
There are two ways to understand the Bible. Read what it says and believe it, or read what it says and ask someone what it means. Believers are responsible for believing it WITHOUT outside counsel”
I John 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Some man may tell you that men cannot hear until God regenerates them, or until God enables them to hear. When you read the above verses (i.e. John 11:25), ask yourself, “am I explaining away what the verse obviously says, or am I taking the verse at face value?” If you have to run to your mentor (Calvin, Spurgeon, Pink, etc.) to understand the Bible and to dismiss the verses that clearly prove Calvinism to be heresy, you are violating I John 2:26.
Prov 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
