Our world is increasingly filled with people telling and believing such awful lies that society itself is about to collapse. Here are a few of them:
Lie: Creation is a myth
The first five words in the Bible are, “In the beginning God created.” If they are not true, then the rest of the Bible is suspect. But, they are true!
You are a fool if you do not believe in God (Psalm 53) and you are deceived if you think that life, and all that we see around us is some cosmic coincidence. What are the odds that a tornado would go through a junkyard and build a jet airliner, even if all the parts were already there? What are the odds that all of the complex life forms that you see were random chance?
The fact is that evolutionists realize the statistical impossibility of evolution, but ignore it. It is believed by many of them, “we know that evolution is true because we know there is no God.”
I can assure you that there is a God, He did create you, and you will stand before Him one day. You can deny this as vehemently as you know how, but one day you will wish with all your might that you had listened to me.
Lie: You can choose your own sex
The Bible plainly states that “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Gen 1:27) You were created either as a man or a woman. If you are a man, and want to pretend to be a woman, you can do that but not while being the person God intended for you to be.
Lie: Homosexuality is acceptable
The Bible plainly states that, “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination” (Lev 20:13). The word abomination means, “it is disgusting.”
The fact that someone does not agree with God about this subject does not make me a “homophobe” or whatever other insult you can think of. I don’t hate or mistreat homosexuals any more than I do liars, thieves, or the like. Christ died for all of those sins.
But, if you refuse to accept the fact that God finds homosexuality disgusting, and you refuse to turn from that sin to Christ, I fear for your soul. What’s a good label for that?
Lie: We must save the planet from global warming
The reason people are so interested in protecting the environment is because they are serving and worshiping the creation more than the creator, just like the Bible said they would in Romans 1:25. They don’t believe there is a God who oversees His creation, so they think they need to.
The global warming they should be worried about is described in II Peter 3:10. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
Those interested in “saving the planet” have forgotten that it is God’s, not theirs. Psalm 104:9 says, “Thou hast set a bound that [the waters (see verse 6)] may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.” How foolish to believe that you can control the seas.
God’s promise is obviously being kept. According to one web site, the sea level is within five inches of where it was in 1900.
Lie: I can live my life any way I want
While it is true that you have been given that power, you do not have the power to change the consequences of living your life as you please. You have the power, for example, to run out into the speeding traffic of a freeway, but you do not have the power to prevent the injury that will be caused to your body.
The same God who created you will judge you. If you have not received His Son, hell awaits you. If you have received His Son, they you will be judged for the way you lived your life and will either be rewarded or lose the rewards you could have had.
